Vacation on Moorea?!?

Alohaaaaa familiy and friends 🧡 Joyeuses Pâques!!!

So this past week was a little slow as far as work goes because everyone is on vacation time... People have been getting sick like crazy, and this past weekend was a holiday for everyone Fri, Sat, Sun and Monday. But it seemed like the holiday started more around Thursday because that was when Moorea started getting really busy and our friends / members started canceling lessons in preparation for their weekend.

Highlights:

- Matai from Outumaoro got baptized this past Saturday and me and Elder Dussault were able to join by messenger! Shout out to Elder Granger from making that happen!!!

- Went to go and see the sunrise at the private beach last Monday

- Went on another date with Elder tingey aka us stopping and picking up food. This time it was macaroons and cheesecake and buggah was fire!

- We ate with members everyday this past week and we were able to grow our connections and also just have an amazing time together

- We were trying to find this one guy that came to church a couple weeks ago and we finally found him and his wife at their private beach area across from their house. We gave them a Book of Mormon in both French and Tahitian and had a nice conversation. They were so stoked and even asked us to help them download the gospel library app (the app with the scriptures, talks, other books, etc)

- The waterman came this past week and we were so happy because we were on our last jug of water

- We found this one couple were the lady is an inactive member and the guy is from another faith. He had so many questions about our beliefs and what we can and can't do and it was nice because we were able to help clarify things he'd heard about our church and also give him a book of Mormon so he could start reading and grow his own testimony

- Used an old bike tire to attach my light to my handlebars because my light mount broke. It looked like I lashed the ama to a iako on a canoe

- We played uno with some kids after we ate with their family. They started making up random rules and I joined in and somehow watched as my cards vanished... In two turns I went from having 8 cards in my hand to 2. Pretty cool and funny 😁. Oh you put down a three, no way I also have a three in my hand let me put that down as well. Oh you put down a six... well, my nine can look like a six as well... yeahhhhh

- Met a lady that spoke pretty fluent English and said she learned it from watching her favorite movies in English and she had me and Elder Tingey impressed

- Found a pakalolo dealer while going contacting. They've been a little harder to find lately, it's definitely not as "hot" as Outumaoro over here

Lowlights:

- Some lessons canceled on us, other ghosted us, and we even got ghosted by some members who were were supposed to join us for lessons... ouch!

- Our neighbors dog stole my jelly sandals and destroyed one side and the owner was just like you shouldn't be leaving your things out because my dog will just take it... sickkkk. He also ate Elder Tingeys church shoes and a pair of cross Elder Masaniai left at the house.

Dog: 3       Elders: 0

Spiritual thought:

Alma 7:11

"And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people."

This week we talked pretty much exclusively about Jesus Christ and his atonement. It was magical and powerful to see the effect that talking about Jesus and his sacrifice had on people. I know he lives and that he loves us each individually because he has felt all of our pains and illnesses.
