The Big Celebration // CN180

This past week has been an absolute blast because not only did we get to hear from Elder Soares (An Apostle) three times, but we also got to go to Tahiti and hang out with other missionaries and see members from all over french polynesia. My heart was filled with so much joy to see people from Bora Bora, the Marquises, Taharaa, Outumaoro, and Moorea. The joy of seeing how much the restored gospel of Jesus Christ has changed their lives has made my mission worth it, and it's not over yet!!!

Highlights:

- We went on a new hike this past pday and found a new waterfall on Moorea. It was pretty sick and this time there wasn't too many people which was super nice

- Tuesday was a pretty chill day filled with some lessons as well as contacting and in the evening we got to eat with the Tehaavi family which was so sick because they bought these two humongous pizza's and talked

- Wednesday we had two fixed lessons. One was with our friend Haumi who's mom is a member and another is with a family we found a couple weeks ago. We also decided we would spend some time going out and contacting and we were able to talk to a few people.

- Thursday started off a little slow because  a bunch of our lessons canceled on us so we only had a couple set lessons but then we decided we were going to pray to know exactly where we needed to go and we saw miracles. We were able to talk to a lot of people and we found four new friends that day. We also ate with members twice that day. Once for lunch and another time for dinner

- Friday we decided that since we were taking a boat over to Papeete at 10am we would go out and try to see some miracles. Well we prayed and we set the objective to find two people who would be prepared for us. We went out and in 40 minutes we found people who lived right next to us. One guy was from the Marquesis and lived on Oahu for a while because he loved to surf and another guy was the best friend of Moearii Sommers a great friend in Taharaa Ward in the Arue Stake

- We were also blessed with the opportunity to hear from apostle and he talked about joy and it was so powerful because along with him were a few other authorities

- We had a little singing practice at the stadium

- We went and did a little split with Elder Kaopua and had a blast and learned some new things

- Stayed in the temple housing and got our own room and didn't have to share with other missionaries

- Got to see people I baptized on Nuku Hiva, Bora Bora, and other members from all the wards I served in and it made my heart so full to see some people I haven't seen for over year.

Lowlights:

- We slept at the temple housing for a couple nights and the beds were pretty solid like a rock. Elder Nally and I both agreed we "slept". It might have not been the best but it was okay.

Spiritual Thought:

Five Principles that was shared to us about joy from Elder Soares when he talked to us:

1. Feeling joy increases our desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.

2. Joy is a principle of power. (The more your happy the more you'll see the lord's hand in your life and the more you will realize how truly blessed you are.)

3. Our joy is a choice. (Even if everything isn't going how you would like it to be in your life you can still choose to be happy)

4. Forget yourself and get lost in this great cause. (Serving others)

5. We can feel true joy by focusing our mission on Jesus Christ
