Down for the count... 1 ππ½

Aloha kakahiaka kakou,
This past week was an absolute blast! We were able to get so much work done and we also saw a whole bunch of little tender miracles every single day. We also learned the importance of resting and recovering when you absolutely need it.
Highlights:
- We set a baptism date for one of our friends for June 22nd and we encouraged him and his girlfriend to start coming to church again. After we gave their newborn a blessing before they head of to Tahiti for a doctor's appointment
- We had a lesson with a different friend and felt prompted to invite him to be baptized and married on June 29th. We proposed the date and he was in shock because he wanted to get baptized and he and his girlfriend were also thinking about possible marriage dates and that was in their range. We explained to him how it was the spirit that led us to that date and we knew it was for a certain reason. We are hoping to hear his response when we see him again this week because we invited him to pray about that date with his girlfriend
- We ate some pretty fire lemon chicken with chow main and rice and it had to be some of the best lemon chicken I've had since being here which says a lot because I strive to eat it as much as possible
- The wind has been absolutely insane this past week. It has been super strong and sometimes it feels like you're biking with resistance bands or other things on because you're working so hard to move forward
- This sector has been quite the workout. Even though we eat a lot, we are somehow burning more calories then we can put into our bodies and we're seeing the effects as we've both been shedding some pounds. Pretty crazy, I'm still down 18lbs from the start of my mission but it looks like I gained some more fat on my belly. Hopefully the weight comes back in muscles after going home and swimming/surfing/paddling.
- Almost hit two pigs while biking on the street because the pigs decided to start crossing the street and then turned around and walked into our bike lane. Lowkey scary, either they were gonna attack us or we would have gone over our handlebars if we hit those things
- We got these cake shake things that were fire. It was a shake/smoothie with a piece of cake on top of it and was exactly what we needed after a long day of lessons and contacting.
Lowlights:
- Elder Nally got super sick this one day. We got out of the house early and had a pretty good day lined up with 5 lessons set and another 4 that we were just going to try pass by and see if they were there. After our first lesson we went and tried to see some of our other friends with a member and then we got our bikes and started to head to another lesson. We stopped on the side of the road after biking for a minute or two and Elder Nally was completely drenched in sweat which is normal but really weird in this case because I hadn't even broken a sweat yet. We ended up going home he threw up a few times, we canceled all our lessons and he slept for an amazing 18hrs in a 24 hr period. I'm glad we got him back to the house and that he had the courage to say he needed a break. Made me think back to Outumaoro when Elder Dussault was at the point of passing out when he had dengue but we kept working... Heavenly Father does bless people especially missionaries with miracles if they keep working....
Spiritual Thought:
Mosiah 4:27 "And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order."
I love this little scripture because it's a nice reminder to us that we should do everything within our power and not try and over do things. We must also be mindful because there is an order in all things. Sometimes we try and skips steps or jump ahead but it is through order that we can truly find the beauty and experience everything.
This applies to all things from learning a new skill to refining skills we have already learned. To get better we must practice day in and day out and can't get out of shape. It's easier to stay in shape then it is to get back in shape. This little principle I've learned can be applied to almost every aspect in life from studying the scriptures, praying, to working out and doing things outdoors.
