Hoooo Howzit Boss!!!

It's been a fun little week and the best part has to be the kids here. They will say so much random things and they absolutely do not have a filter on their thoughts. We were eating dinner and this one little girl comes up to us and is just like "So do you guys live near each other or something?" We were just like, "Yeah, we're brothers!" We got a "There's no way you're brothers... you're black (me) and he's white! (Elder Tingey)" Bless that little girl, but maybe it was just the pour lighting that made the little tan I have seem darker than it is.

Highlights:

- We went on a little waterfall hike last Monday and then celebrated Speur Latu's birthday at the chapel with some cake and ice cream. We also went to a place to eat that wasn't too far from the chapel.

- We were out contacting because most our lessons on Tuesday got canceled and we met this one lady and she had a pitbull named princess who was anything but a princess. My arm, leg, ankles, pants and wrists were getting bitten like a chew toy while we were trying to talk to the lady. The lady was super nice though so it made it all worth it and we were able to get her in contact with the sisters in Haapiti.

- We had a lesson with one of our friends this little boy Christopher and then after him, his brother and his mom showed us this cool private beach. It was litterally like taking a little portal to paradise because it was a white sand beach and super calm. You also couldn't see it from the road because of a whole bunch of houses blocking it.

- We stopped on the side of the road to get some coconut milk and they had some loafs of coconut bread for sale. The bread was amazing and only $2.50 so I'm definitely going to be picking up 2-3 during the week from now on

- We went on an "inspired" Contacting session and were able to find a few friends withing a few minutes. It was pretty cool because we prayed and then felt prompted to go into a certain neighborhood. We say some kids a started talking to them about school and food and then we were just like "Are your parents home?" And then "Let's go visit your mom!" Well, it was a hit we did a little game with their family as well as some other kids in the neighborhood and then setup a return time for next week

- Met a member from my old ward over on Bora

- Two little girls on different occasions told me and Elder Tingey we're "definitely not brothers because he's white and I'm "black" " 🤔

- Went to a tahitian wedding and it was a vibe because of the musicians playing and everyone singing along

- A little girl told Elder tingey he's handsome and five minutes later another one told him he'll be the one getting married next... and then I started laughing because she said it so intense and with much conviction... Faaitoito Elder!!!!!

- CHURCH WAS AMAZING!!! We had some friends come and it was ward conference so all the different leaders were there. I got to see my favorite high council men Yves who took such good care of the missionaires over in Taharaa Ward as well as Noelani Bennett and Marutea Sommers. Ahhhhh I love those families sooooo much. Yves even called up one of my old companions Elder Moriniere on messenger and we got to talk for a little bit.

- We went contacting the the neighborhood with a lot of kids and found even more friends to teach

Lowlights:

- So we've been teaching this one family and they have been coming to church, participating in activities and they've even had some spiritual experiences. Well, at the end of one of our lessons the mother tells us that they talked and they think it's time for a break on the lessons because her daughters aren't as interested as they once where but they're still going to continue coming to the chapel. It hurt sooo much and Elder Tingey and I were just like "Ouch" it was right at the end of the day. We then went and had dinner with our bishop and his family and they made some bomb baked potatoes so that kinda saved the night.

Spiritual thought:

Mark 5:36, "Be not afraid, only believe".

Short, simple, yet powerful and a great reminder that when things get tough, the tough get going. Fear is big driving force that allows people to grow and get better. Fear + a belief in Christ = Miracles (It definitely won't be easy but it will be worth it)
