Hau'oli Makahiki Hou!!!!
Hoooooo howzit! Just wanna start off by wishing everyone a Happy New Years!!! Hope you were able to ring in the new year for me with a lot of fireworks and firecrackers. I must say New Years in Tahiti is definitely not the same as New Years in Hawaii...
Highlights:
- We had a few solid lessons from this past week. One really solid lesson was with a member who is starting to return to church because he wants to provide a good example for his kids and because he misses all of the blessings that he had seen when he was active.
- Played Beach Volleyball with some of the missionaries in the district and did yoga on another one of the days.
- We had some pretty fire dinner appointments and were able to build some better relationships with the families in our ward. We talked about surfing, bodyboarding, sailing and paddling. One of the families even does kayaking/surfski-ing and I was straight stoked and we talked about that almost the entire night
- Walked to church and said hello to all of our drug dealer friends who drank and smoked the entire day away
- We did more contacting and had no place to leave our bikes and the drug dealers were just like "Come, here!!! We'll take care of your bikes" Said a quick little prayer and we were like "Okay, I think we can trust them". We came back and our bikes were still there!!! A miracle!!!!
- We also met a Tongan family from Utah who was visiting places there son had served
Lowlights:
- Started talking about how I loved popping things in Hawaii and then the family we were eating with started offering to buy cakes and other aerials for me to which I had to decline because we can't light them while on missions : (
Spiritual Thought:
Alma 29:9, "I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy."
"Vents favorables et mer suivants"
"Mata'i haumaru e moana mania"
"Fair winds and following seas"
Ua Here au ia 'oe and a Happy New Year!!!,
