Love Everyone ❤️

Kura Ora Katou!!!!!!!

So let's just start off the email with some of the big blessings we saw this past week, one of these blessings has been RAIN!!! It hadn't rained in a fat minute and I was started to think we were going to start washing our clothes and showering in the ocean because we had roughly four inches left of water in our huuuuge water tanks. We went to sleep and I was awaken at like 3:30am because of hard rainfall. I quickly went to my knees and started pouring out my heart in gratitude towards Heavenly Father for this miracle we have to flush our toilets, do our laundry and take some showers for at least another week or so.... So keep praying for rain because we need all the prayers we can get.

Highlights:

- We started off the week by going and learning how to make some hats out of palm fronds.

- We spent our tuesday morning doing Copra with a mami and filled roughly 3 1/2 sacks. It was sick, I hadn't done any since our trip to Ua Huka over in the marquesis. We worked, talked, and laughed and had a great time. We even made a huge fire.

- Some stanford students that are voyaging around french polynesia pulled up on this giant sailboat and they came to our sports activity. The following day our entire village went to tour the boat and we did some service but helping to translate in between the students and the locals. The students/crew/scientists even played some soccer with the local kids

- Ate with an amazing family that feeds us for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We get there for breakfast and he had full on fishes for us that he fried up and was just like "Make sure you eat it all". We had some lessons and then in the evening he makes us each another huge fish, tahitian food and some pizza and cake because we were celebrating a birthday.

- Had so many "deja vu" moments this past week on Hao. It feels like i'm home, like i've seen some of these people before or lived some of these experiences. Places i've seen here in person and experiences i've had have already occurred multiple times in dreams but I never understood it until now. Pretty cool and i'm excited for the rest of this month and all the things that lie ahead

- We found four friends in thirty minutes one day and then as we were riding home my bike decided it didn't want to do missionary work anymore and the axel and nut came out while we were riding back in the dark with no lights. I luckily was able to recover the axel and we went back the next day and walked along the road and found a washer but we didn't find the nut. We went to the store and bought some zipties but couldn't find a nut that fit. We went all over and finaly at one store the guy there started taking apart all their things and found something that could be threaded onto the screw/axel. So now I got a pipe fitting bracket that is screwed onto my wheel and it's held on by some zip ties. We don't got much out here but the tahitians always find a way to make everything work which is amazing

- It rained a whole lot this past Saturday which has been a huge blessing because everyone on our island was starting to get really scared and worried

- We helped make some costumes for the children's Heiva festival performance. We learned that it takes a long time just to make a little bit of progress but it was fun seeing how they did everything by hand

Lowlights:

- The leak in our water tank has struck again and for some reason the water that we got from the rain is halfway gone so we'll be praying for more rain on the daily

Spiritual Thought:

From my great grandmother, "Aunty Mary Lee". A woman strong in her faith, and in her native Hawaiian beliefs. She served for 25 years as the branch /district relief society president.

In her last words to her family by her bedside she said "Love Everyone".

No greater love can a man have for another than to give up his own life for them. Whether that be literally, or figuratively  through a small act like rendering service. Through loving everyone we can become peacemakers, and foster growth in our communities. I've grown to love this work and in doing so this work hasn't been work but rather a joyful service. I'm thankful for wonderful examples and oppurunities to gain understanding
