Elder Kala Ellis

This past week has been an absolute blast because not only did we get to hear from Elder Soares (An Apostle) three times, but we also got to go to Tahiti and hang out with other missionaries and see members from all over french polynesia. My heart was filled with so much joy to see people from Bora Bora, the Marquises, Taharaa, Outumaoro, and Moorea. The joy of seeing how much the restored gospel of Jesus Christ has changed their lives has made my mission worth it, and it's not over yet!!! Highlights: - We went on a new hike this past pday and found a new waterfall on Moorea. It was pretty sick and this time there wasn't too many people which was super nice - Tuesday was a pretty chill day filled with some lessons as well as contacting and in the evening we got to eat with the Tehaavi family which was so sick because they bought these two humongous pizza's and talked - Wednesday we had two fixed lessons. Kaoha nuiiiii!!! Another week has passed faster then expected. Transfers ended up happening and Elder Tingey left and Elder Nally ended up coming. We've been able to get a good plan going as to how we're going to work this transfer and we got some goals down that we're hoping to accomplish. This week is also exciting because we get to go to Tahiti two times for a conference as well as a cultural celebration. We will be celebrating 180 years since the arrival of the church in French Polynesia. It'll be exciting to see all the dances, hear people speaking, as well as hearing all the songs that will be sung. Highlights:  - RAHERE GOT BAPTIZED, wow it was absolutely powerful. His father and mother were crying out of pure joy and all his family members came to support him.  - We decided to try and do some contacting in a neighborhood and it turned out to be packed. Alohaaaaa, howzit?!? Long time no see!!! Pretty solid week, we did a lot of great work and ate a lot of great food, maybe even a little too much because I'm somehow gaining weight while in a biking sector so it doesn't really make sense.  Highlights: - Soeur Schmitt pulled up!!! We ended up going to the beach as a district on Monday and played some volleyball and rugby and ate some sandwiches. Soeur Schmitt who just barely finished her mission also pulled up and it was lit to see her and her family.  - Took a mini shower at the other Elders chapel using some handsoap in place of bodysoap and a garden house for a shower 🚿 😀 👌 😄 😎 👍  - We started an exchange that same night and I got to chill with the Paopao Elders and it was sick. It was a big family reunion and everyone there was so nice. The guy paddles for Red Bull Vaa and his wife is a "Goold" from Bora Bora so I got to talk to hem about their family as well as paddling.
