Yessssah Blesssah Nevahhhhh Stresssah
Howzit Palalaz?!???
This past week has been absolutely crazy full of lots of phone calls, prayers, lessons and tahitian language study as a little stress relief. So the big thing this past week has been trying to do all the preparations we need to do for one of our friends getting baptized. The only trick is she wants to do it on Tahiti because all her family is over there.... Aiyaaaa, it's been a whole lot of work trying to coordinate with the missionaries and leaders in that area and we're just hoping everything goes smoothly because we can't make it.
Highlights:
- I got sunburnt so bad. So the sun finally decided to come out after what was pretty much two weeks of Grey skies and rain. I had the bright idea to go outside and roll up my pants while doing my tahitian study and it was the worst idea ever. Came back in the house and now I got some solid red lines on my thighs because they were so white. Not looking forward to getting burned after the mission but hey, "Getting burnt is just the first step to getting tan" 🙃 (Told that to my brother when he came back all white from his mission and started burning like crazy)
- We were finally able to figure out how we could best help one of our friends to continue progressing. It turns out we just needed to start including her inactive boyfriend. At first he wasn't too interested but after talking about the importance of family he warmed up.
- We were eating with a family in our ward and celebrating their daughter's first birthday and one of the little boys started dancing around with a cardboard box on his head and had everyone in the house laughing
- We were eating with a family and then the guys parents showed up and he immediately got serious and was just like, "Don't speak to my father unless he speaks to you and WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T TALK ABOUT RELIGION. HE HATES MISSIONARIES" Woah, scarry right? Well we just started talking about life and he got so happy when he found out I was from Hawaii and then he started talking about his life and he used to sail and captain container ships for 32 years like whaaaat boom we became best friends by the end of the night.
- Elder Tingey was sleeping talking one night and now I know for a surety of heart that he is a consecrated missionary because he was confirming lessons in his sleep and asking people if we can serve them. Oh and he was sleep talking in the clearest French ever, it was pretty impressive. Also it was a little scary.... 😳 🙄
- Met the Patu's.... Pretty cool because I was super close with his entire family on Bora except him and his little family because they were never at home when we passed. I started talking about his mom/dad and his siblings and their families and showing photos of me and them and he was just like wait whaaaat. Super cool moment and he was stoked for us to be there and even sent messages to his siblings saying how much we missed them.
- Members have been helping us like crazy and contacting us to see if they could come to lessons. We had a few lessons cancel and it was a little sad because the members were so hyped to come. We also had another few that asked us if we could come without members :( Hopefully that changes...
Spiritual Thought:
2 Nephi 4:15 "My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep."
Just a scripture I really liked from this past week that shows each one of us that Heavenly Father is there no matter the time or the place and that we can always feel of his love and recieve his grace.
"Vents favorables et mer suivants"
"Mata'i haumaru e moana mania"
"Fair winds and following seas"
