Outumaoro Braddahs!!!

Merry almost Christmas 🎄  party animals!!!!

We had a pretty jam packed week with a lot of fun things that happened. We started off the week by doing some watercolor painting with the district and it definitely wasn't the sisters first time because they absolutely killed it. While we were working on our art pieces, Elder Ward was also working on his own art piece... aka cutting Elder Chisholms hair.

The day after we had our transfer calls and woah half our district got transfered out which was low-key sad but all the people that came in our equally legendary. There's two more people in the district with roots that go back to Hawaii along with my companion who's a Korean from Quebec who's literally the funniest guy ever and always be cracking jokes.

We had a few more lessons with some drug dealers. Went to eat at the local Chinese restaurant with Elder Ward and another member in the ward and got a front row seat of some guys selling pakalolo, smoking pakalolo and smoking crack in the middle of the open air restaurant.

We got asked by a few more guys if we could sell drugs for them which we politely said no and offered them a book of Mormon as well as our number. After, we were talking to this guy when suddenly we heard firecrackers across the street and then seconds later we heard firecrackers over our heads. Like someone lit a throw pack and threw it over us but luckily it wasn't a full size one like at home. Also got to see a little firework show put on by the same guys just minutes later.

District council was pretty fire! Played a little get to know you game where we said what fruit we thought our companions would be and I got a papaya and I was thoroughly confused.

Baptism!!! We just had our third and fourth baptism while I've been here and this time it was two brothers who came to us not too long ago with the desire from their first lesson to be baptized. It was pretty sick to see them finally get to that point despite a whole bunch of trials being thrown at them just days before the baptism. Their car battery went completely dead and they had to buy a new one while they were trying to get to their baptism interview. Their grandfather getting put in the hospital the day of the baptism (he was the one that was supposed to baptise them). In the end everything ended up working out and the baptism went smoothly.

Highlights:

- Saw Elder Brown after he finally came back from his vacation to Huahine

- The new district is sick

- My companion is great and a hard worker

- Got to see some fireworks and firecrackers

- Don & Na'i got baptized

Lowlights:

- No surfing or chilling at the beach this holiday season... other than that, living the dream

Spiritual Thought:

2 Nephi 9:21 "And he cometh into the world that he may save all men if they will hearken unto his voice; for behold, he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam".

I love this little scripture because it reminds us of the importance of Christ especially in this Christmas season. He's there, he's suffered for each one of us, and he will help us if we hearken to his voice.
