Iaorana i teie mahana to'u mau hoa!!! Tchuru, Maitaix?!?!?!
The Week:
Started off our week with our favorite thing to do... Contacting!!! Actually we started off by going to someone's house but when we arrived there wasn't anyone there so we ended up going back to our place to get our studies done and then went out to do contacting in this one street that goes up into the mountain. Happy to say that we hit every single house in that quartier even if it took us four hours. We met members, ate crepes with a friend we just met, I caught a baby chick, and we ended up getting a whole bunch of limes/avocado's/mangoes and other things from a lady.We had more lessons later on in the week and some of them were even new friends. We were crazy blessed the other Sunday because members had there friends at church and were like hey Elder Ma these are my friends and they're interested in the church. One of the members was our mission presidents father and when we had a lesson with him and his friend it was crazy powerful and the testimonies and spirit felt there was insane.
Sunday was pretty cool there was this huge swell in the water and as we were driving to church the sun was just peaking over the mountain and gave the ocean mist this beautiful golden color and you could see the rays of sun hitting it. There was also no wind, and clean waves that took me back to a swell a few years ago. It was ward conference and our Bishop gave a talk and at the end sang a little which was sick because right before him the primary sang and his little daughter did this solo that she memorized.
Splitz:
We went on splits this past Thursday night/Friday. It was a little different just because all my previous splits on Bora we were "on splits" but still lived in the same house and saw the other championship the entire time. But splits was sick. I was back on a bike but the other Elders house had A/C which was so nice. I actually felt cold for once and didn't wake up in the middle of the night sweating. We also were back on bikes which was pretty fun.
I said a quick prayer in my heart and what happened was nothing short of a miracle. I started remembering everything I had studied on Bora from words to phrases and sentence structures. Me and Elder Ward were able to back and forth and before we knew it the lesson was over.
Got back to the house and saw a sign painted on the wall from some old missionaries that I just had to take a picture with because it's pretty ironic since the Elders here have bikes instead of cars.
Mana'o Mo'a no teie mahana:
Sorry it's been awhile since I sent a scripture in my email but there's a scripture I wanna share with you today. It's found in John 8:31-32, " 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The truth can set us free in all aspects in our lives. Truth allows us to grow and allows our trust to become more solid. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides us with simple and everlasting truths. Truths such as the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restablished on the earth, and families can live together again.
