Cheeeehoooo

Howzit toute le monde,

Wait did you think the funerals were over?!?! We had another funeral last week monday in the evening and then three more on Tuesday,  Wednesday and then Thursday. We started joking around when we answered the phone and started saying sorry this isn't the Elders it's the Taharaa Funeral Services. It kind of drains you to plan out funerals and do everything but it's nice to see the familles have a little peace of mind.

Had a lesson with the Kanaka Maoli Hawaiian Activist guy again. It was pretty fun we started talking about being connected to your land and culture and then my companion was like what is going on. The guy started talking about planting your placenta/piko with a tree and I was oh yeah we do that same thing in Hawaii. We got in the car I turned to my companion and was like, "So where's your Piko?" To which he responded "I don't know, probably in a landfill honestly.", sad life...

Had a lesson with an older Mami, but the crazy thing was a few hours before the lesson we get a call from one of the members in our ward and he was like "So you guys have a lesson with Mami at 3pm right?" Us: "Ummm... Yes" Him: "Alright I'll be there". He ended up coming to a majority of our lessons this past week and we still don't know how he knows. We ended up asking him and he was like "It's the Holy Ghost Elders"

In the middle of the week we had a whole bunch of lessons cancel. We did a whole bunch of contacting and just going door to door. We met a bunch of people and setup a whole lot of return appointments and when we returned the wife of whatever man we made an appointment with would come out and be like "NOOOOOO!!! GO AWAY!!!" My companion started getting frustrated but then we found this big Ulu so I proceeded to take a picture and was just like "Elder... No Worries brah, everything going work out." We didn't have a dinner appointment that night so we had a barbecue and cooked up some steaks. Threw some Hawaiian Salt from Kauai before we grilled it up and the buggah was so ono!

Had a sick zone conference, and right after one of our friends had her baptism interview and was crazy happy after. She ended up getting baptized the other day on her birthday. Bright and early at 7am right before our sacrament meeting at 8am. It was such a powerful morning. She went down into the water was fully immersed and came up and immediately started crying. She was just so happy to finally feel free and clean and it was so nice to see her like that.

It was fast and testimony meeting the other day in preparation for General Conference and the spirit was crazy strong. Not only did our friend get confirmed but two babies also got blessed that same day.

Spiritual Thought:

Jacob 4:7 "Nevertheless, the Lord God showeth us our weakness that we may know that it is by his grace, and his great condescensions unto the children of men, that we have power to do these things."

A Hui Hou and Malama Pono... Until next time. . .
