Transfers!!!
Highlights:
- Went on a sick hike this past Monday to a little village called Anaho, you can only get there by boat or by hiking in. Sooo of course we chose to hike in because missionary rules won't let us take the boat. The sand reminded me of home and it had a super small deserted island/fishing village vibe. Made me think about all the Tahitians talking about Maupiti and how pretty it is.
- Monday evening we got a call from an unknown number and they were just like, "Is Elder Ellis there?". We were like ummmm yeah, and then they just started talking and it took me awhile to figure out who it was but it was RAMON!!!! My old Ward Mission Leader on Bora Bora. Haha, his wife handed him the phone and he started of with ABOSHHH!!! Which is something he would always say and everyone knows him for that. We caught up and there was even some friends I had taught who were also with them which was so cool. Still don't know how they found out where I was and how they got our number but I guess I just gotta be grateful. He then kept talking about how I need to go visit them and everyone else on Bora after the mission and I was like, "I gotcha, I'm There". Bittersweet moment especially since it's been almost 9 or 10ish months since I saw them.
- We got Transfer calls on Tuesday and I'M STAYING!!!! CHEEEEE 3 TRANSFERS ON NUKU HIVA!!! haha, I'm stoked, Elder Hagen is stoked, and so are the members!
- We parked our car at the beach and we were waiting for one of our friends to show up for his lesson and we see a guy washing his horses. He ends up getting on one of his horses while in the water, then a minute later we see one of the horses galloping away at full speed. It turns out that man was Papi Hoka and he was really mad because the horse he was getting on top of, was one he is currently trying to domesticate, he had just caught it a week ago and had to go and catch it again, but luckily he had a line attached to the horse.
- We filled up a lot of water but luckily we didn't have to go too often because we told everyone which days we were planning on going and when we could pick there water up
- We helped Uncle Kevin out again this time pouring cement to level out an area that used to have a water fixture with turtles in it.
- Had a few lessons and started planning the program for Aueriliens Baptism. Cheee and there's no font so we're baptizing him in the ocean.
- We eat with this Mamie and her husband every couple weeks because her brother in-law lives right next door and is a member. Anyways we show up to her birthday party and it was packed with people and food and they ended up dancing hula and having a little kanikapila/bringue with guitars/ukulele's/drum and it was so nice and really felt like home.
- Pulled into our garage area after a dinner appointment and we saw a dog running away. Looked at my shoes and saw one was missing. Me and Elder Hagen chased that dog down and he finally ended up dropping my shoe. Cheee score, I'm not walking around with a shoe on one foot and a slipper on the other.
Spiritual Thought:
I came across these two different scriptures as I was doing my personal study this past week that I think you guys will also like.
The first one comes from Helaman 5:47 in The Book of Mormon and reads "Peace, peace be unto you, because of your faith in my Well Beloved, who was from the foundation of the world."
The second is found in Doctrine & Covenants Section 19 Verse 23 which reads, "Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me."
The peace we can have and will have is through our faith! Putting our faith in practice can allow us to fully trust our Heavenly Father and see the big picture.

"Mata'i haumaru e moana mania"
"Fair winds and following seas"
