The Water is Evil !!!!

Image
Highlights: - We drove around the island last p-day stopping at a few different places and tried to get access to some beaches but every beach ended up being private which was sad and we didn't feel like trespassing so we just bypassed the beaches and continued on with our tour. We might go back and contact those places so we can check out there beaches... - We were driving back in the pitch black and then the horses eating grass on either sides of the road looked at the truck and moved right in the middle of the road blocking us. I honked the horn thinking they would move to the side and then they just started running in front of the car along the road and kept going off half a mile before they moved off to the side again. - Made fried noodles and ate with our neighbor and then we made some chichidango (mochi) after and it was sooo good. Our neighbors sister liked it so much she took the recipe I had and ended up making more later on in the week. - We washed the car three times th...

Mario Kart!!!!

Kaoha nui, This past week felt like Mario Kart because of all of the rain. It has rained pretty much constantly for the past week and because of that the roads have been really junk. There's been boulders that have been displaced to the middle of the road, we've avoided a few landslides while driving, drifted at least ten times this past week while our truck was in 4x4 and filled up so many bottles of water. As far as moving things this past week we've moved a refrigerator in our truck and then we helped move a cement mixer later on in the week.  Highlights: - We had gotten a call from a number from St. George Utah and when we tried calling back they didn't answer. We thought nothing of it till later on we were at a family home evening and we see a tourist show up. The guy had been driving by and got the impression he needed to stop. He stopped and asked a couple kids were the Mormon church was and the kids said "Well there's some Mormons that live in that hous...

Nuku Hiva Construction and Water Services

Highlights: - We sent it on this hike to an amazing waterfall. (Check out the google photos for the pictures of the waterfall) Papi also tricked us into hunting at the same time. We drove for an hour on this trail and then ended up taking another hour and a half to get to the water instead of 20 minutes. We didn't catch/shoot anything, but we weren't complaining because the hike down to the waterfall was mean and we were all panting just trying to walk back up the hill with a lot of switchbacks.  - We did a lot of service with Elder Lane before he left. Which included filling up a lot of water. Then Elder Hagen came and we filled up even more water and he was like woooow, we needa time-lapse this thing and I was like ohhh brah you gotta get used to it because we'll be doing this a lot. - Had a "real French dinner" with one of our friends. We ate so much cheese and other things and were so stuffed at the very end. Me and Elder Lane got sick from the "Liver of ...

Back to the roots!!!

Miracles on miracles on miracles this past week is all I can say! We started off the week by doing a circle island tour with our neighbor and his family. It was pretty sick and we got to see so many cool spots on the island. We saw the desert, a place they like to call "The Grand Canyon" and a whole bunch of small beach communities and even did a few hikes in-between all of the driving. Later on we went over to our neighbors house and made some shoyu hotdogs and they added their own twist which made it pretty killah.  Got up on Tuesday and finally decided we'd wash our car because it was looking really dirty from all the mud and rain. As soon as we finished washing the truck the rain came down and didn't stop for a solid couple days. Our car stayed nice for an hour and they immediately went back to it's normal look pretty fast. We showed up to one of our lessons only to be greeted by an empty house then went to the store and picked up some more Milo and powdered m...
